So I’m back! This is my first WWW Wednesday in a while. I don’t want to even know when my last one was because then I’ll feel bad…

For those of you who don’t know, WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Taking On A World of Words where three question are asked:

What are you currently reading?

For young Ben Boarman, it started off as a typical Halloween with his sister, Bailey. That is until they met a woman who gave him a strange warning, “Don’t forget to check the well!” Sure enough, later that evening, Ben received a cryptic message and an interesting new ability near the well in his backyard. From there, Ben and two of his friends, Dan and Althea are drawn into a mysterious battle in the small town of Linford between two powerful groups, the Keepers and the Habitue.

The Keepers have called upon Ben to help them but the Habitue have someone as well, Darell Novitski. Darell is smart, strong and utterly devoted to the Habitue.

Ben and his friends are intent on preventing the Habitue from succeeding in their plans for Linford but with Darell in their way they realize that time may not be on their side. The Habitue are everywhere. They are nowhere. They are the shadows. And they will not be stopped.

The first book I am reading this year is The Habitué by Douglas White. This was sent to me by the author last year and I am only getting round to it right now (I am so sorry!). So far I am half way through this book and so far it’s not bad.

Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.

Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.

It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.

Do you mean recently as in the last decade? If so I “recently” finished The Young Elites by Marie Lu, which I did really enjoy, and it also made me think a lot about the differences between protagonists and antagonists and the issues with categorising characters as such.  

What do you think you’ll read next?

That is a very very good question. I actually have no clue what to read next, but I’ll hopefully know by next week.
