TOP TEN TUESDAY: Authors I’ve Read The Most Books From

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish once a week, and this week’s list is authors I’ve read the most books from. I don’t know how many authors I’ll be able to come up with for this one, because I am one of those people who reads an odd book here and there from an author, and I don’t often complete a book series.

Number one: J. K. Rowling – 7 and a half books

This is an obvious one. I have seven and a half books of hers overall, seven of those being the Harry Potter series. The half was for The Casual Vacancy which was just not my cup of tea.

Number two: John Green – 5 books

I went through a big John Green phase when I got back into reading again, and I read all his major novels: Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines, Will Grayson, Will Grayson, and The Fault in Our Stars. I haven’t read Let It Snow or the Zombicorn novella he wrote for charity – which he admits to being crap apparently, though it’s probably still alright.

Number three: Jacqueline Wilson – at least 18 books

I grew up on Jacqueline Wilson books, and still love them. I won’t name the ones I have read because that will be a bloody long list, but I definitely haven’t read all of them.

Number four: Stephanie Meyer – 6 and a half books

I went through quite a large vampire phase, so I have a feeling a lot of the authors I mention will come from that. I loved Twilight – I don’t anymore – but I read, and re-read, the Twilight Saga multiple times, including The Second Short Life of Bree Tanner, The Host – which I actually still like – and the incomplete novel, Midnight Sun – that was where the half came from.

Number five: P. C. and Kristin Cast – at least 6 books

If you haven’t gathered the books I read were the House of Night series, and I can only remember reading the first six books. After Tempted I have no clue.

Number six: Charlaine Harris – at least 5 books

I won’t mention the age I read the True Blood/Sookie Stackhouse series, but I am currently eighteen and I can’t remember much about them, so that should give you an idea of how young I was when read them. I also can’t remember how many I read, but it was quite a few and I still own all of them for some reason.

Number seven: L. J. Smith – 19 books

Originally I wasn’t going to add her, but then I realised just how many books I used to love were by her. The books I have read by her are: The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle trilogy, the Night World series, and the Dark Visions trilogy. Most of these books were bind ups so I didn’t have as many books as this.

Number eight: Meg Cabot – 12 books

Surprisingly only three of these books were the Princess Diaries. The rest were a few books from The Mediator series, Queen of Babble, All-American Girl, Jinx, Teen Idol and Avalon High. This was another author I never realised how many books of hers I have read until I actually looked at the books she has written and realised she apparently played a large part in the books I read when I was younger.

Number nine: Anthony Horowitz – 11 books

This is the author that got me properly into action books, and that was through the Alex Rider series, which makes up nine of the books of his I’ve read. Two of the books were the first two book in the Gatekeepers series which I actually do want to complete.

Number ten: Sarah J. Maas – 4 and a quarter books

You probably know by now how much I love Sara J. Maas, so this shouldn’t be a surprise. The quarter I read of one of her books is actually The Assassin’s Blade, which was the first book of hers I picked up. I couldn’t get into it, but now I have read the Throne of Glass series I will go back to that and hopefully love it.

I made it to ten! I am so bloody happy! For the past few weeks I haven’t been able to make it to ten, but now I finally have! Yay!
