The Friday 56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda’s Voice, and the rules are pretty simple:
- Grab a book, any book.
- Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s OK.) - Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it).
- Post it.
- Add the url to your post on Freda’s Voice.
This week I chose The Fairy Wren by Ashley Capes, which is one of the few books I have in ebook form, and I plan to read it some time soon.
‘While he did feel good, very good indeed after Kelly’s visit, there was no point going into detail about the hell the he was probably going to face with Dennis Maddocks. For now, he could ignore that, and Eddie wouldn’t want to hear about it anyway.’
So, what do you think? I like turning this into a game, so guess what the book is about in the comments. Also if you have a Friday 56 post of your own leave the link in the comments so I can check it out.
Happy Friday!
I have no idea what this book could be about. I like the cover but the 56 is baffling. Check out my 56s and BBs at 21 and 22 on Freda’s linky. Happy reading!

From the title and book cover, I get a totally different vibe than from the quote. Neither is bad, just different. The quote makes me think there may be bullying issues.

I understand where you’re coming from. I have no idea what this book is going to be like because the quote and the description give such different vibes.

You have piqued my curiosity…the excerpt hints at something dark, and yet that cover is so light and airy. Thanks for sharing…and here’s mine: “EIGHT HUNDRED GRAPES”

I have no clue what to think about this book for that reason alone. It’s definitely going to be an interesting read.

There are many things Kelly could have don’t to make him feel good. But then, without knowing who or what Kelly is, I’m stumped. Please check out mine … http://tinyurl.com/LisaKsBookReviews

I recently talked to Ashley and plan to read The Fairy Wren soon. How do you like it so far?

I’ve only read the first couple of pages of it to see what it’s like, but I do like the writing style.
