The Friday 56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda’s Voice, and the rules are pretty simple:
- Grab a book, any book.
- Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s OK.)
- Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it).
- Post it.
- Add the url to your post on Freda’s Voice.
This week I chose Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, because I am planning to read this very soon and I’m really excited for it. So, here it is:
Instead of reading, she could perhaps use the pianoforte, but… well, it had been a while, and she wasn’t sure she could endure the sound of her own stumbling, clumsy playing. She traced a finger over a splotch of fuchsia silk on her dress. All those books, with no one to read them.
I chose that quote mainly for the last line, because I feel like that is one of the saddest book-related situations possibles. Imagine a library filled with amazing books, but no one to read them…
Anyway, since a lot of you have probably read Throne of Glass tell me what your favourite aspect of the book/series is, without spoilers of course. If you haven’t read it like me, do you want to?
If you have a Friday 56 post of your own leave the link to do it in the comments and I’ll check it out.
