TOP TEN TUESDAY: Characters I Would Like to Check-In On

Top ten tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish once a week, and this week’s list is the top ten I would like to check-in on after the book(s) have finished. These are in no particular order, and this IS NOT spoiler free.

Number one: Alex Rider from Anthony Horowitz’s Alex Rider series

The last book in the series ended with Alex moving to America and leaving the spying world behind, but not before a lot of psychological damage was inflicted. I want to know what he did with his life later on, if he got over the trauma, and if he led a normal life. I sort of doubt that he did though, because I can’t imagine spy wonder-boy Alex Rider working in retail or an office job.

Number two: Ava Lavender from Leslye Walton’s The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender

The ending for this book was really vague, so I just want to know what the heck happened?

Number three: Christopher from Mark Haddon’s The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night-time

I loved this book and the semi-emotionless character which is Christopher. He was a complete genius and I want to know what happened to him later in life. I sort of imagine him being a mathematician working for the likes of NASA.

Number four: Lisbeth Salander from Steig Larsson’s Millennium Series

The ending for the last book in the series was sort of vague. It didn’t go into detail about what she would be up to, so I want to know, because I can’t imagine her being the settling down and getting a normal job type. What really annoys me is the fact that there was meant to be about ten books in the series, so we would have known what would’ve happened, but the author died before writing them.

Number five: Bella Swan/Cullen/whatever you want to call her from Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga

Now this one is only because I want to know if Edward and Bella end up killing each other after several hundred years. I know I would.

Number six: Gale from Suzanne Collins Hunger Games trilogy

I just want to make something clear: I do not like Gale at all. So, the reason I want to know what happened to him is that I want to know if he got the perfect life and family he seemed to want, where he can look down at those who were higher than him before and tread on them. I just want more reasons to hate him.

Number seven: Violet Markey from Jennifer Niven’s All the Bright Places

After the loss of Finch I can imagine Violet following her dream as a writer. But I want to know if she could pursue any relationships later in life, because I feel like Finch’s loss could possibly be scarring. And I also want to know how Finch has affected her life.

Number eight: Eragon from Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance Cyle

When Eragon said he would never return to Alagaësia that destroyed my idea of him and Arya getting together, having kids, and basically having a perfect life together. So I want to know how he lived his life. I hope it was still happy.

Number nine: Tiny Cooper from Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan

Tiny Cooper was such an amazingly hilarious and beautiful character, so why wouldn’t I want to know what he got up to after the book?

Number ten: Elizabeth and Mr Darcy from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice

I have this image of them having kids and then arguing over their parenting styles. They seem like the sort of couple who argue a lot, but it never affects their love for each other.

Are there any characters you would like to check-in on after the books? If you’ve done this TTT please link it below and I’ll check it out.

  1. Aw, I didn’t think of Tiny Cooper, but what an amazing character! I’d love to check up on him, too! 😀
